Tada!!!! Delicious!

Without tripod.

With tripod!!!

TRIPOD!!!!

Oh yes, and if you are interested in making your own cola, Mr. Pony has entered into the realm of soda making in a full on assault peaceful attempt to diminish my Pepsi intake and make me a healthier me. Utilizing this recipe as a base, he made his first attempt today, and it was pretty tasty. There will be some messing with the amounts before we have something that can sub for Pepsi more than every other day, but we are on our way!

And lastly, a shot of a recent dinner so I can link up with Grace for her Photo Share Thursday {or, in my case, Sunday}. It was yummy!

Hunting again!

This has been a rough week, but I managed to get almost all the prompts taken care of. The thing I love about all these photo challenges is that even if I've had a rough day, I obsess love meeting the challenge prompts, so they push me to think creatively and get the camera out everyday!

1. Capture the Sky- I have a couple shots for this- the first I edited in Picnik and like the abstract results. The second is from inside an amazing restaurant we went to- the pinpricks in the lamps imitate stars in the sky, so I 'captured' the sky as these lamps present it:).

2. Everyday- Every morning before work, Mr. Pony makes me a delicious cup of cappuccino. Of course, coffee beans make for a wonderful photographic subject!

3. Furry- I meant to use an image of one of my beasties for this, but I found this adorable little cactus and thought he would be perfect for this prompt!

4. Life- Its amazing how much our pets become a part of our lives. It is really hard to image my world without Copper, Lyric, Pepsi and Chowder livening things up, and I'm so happy to come home to my waggly little buddy {who, incidentally, is equally excited to be playing with his non-waggly mom}.

5.  Blurred- Unfortunately I didn't get any blurred pictures this week that were 'artsy'- all of them were just plain blurry. So I'll pull in a shot from a couple weeks ago. Chowder was out playing in the sun, having some fun, going for a run... ok, I'll stop now. In either case, when he is in the right mood, all you can see of Chow is a puppy colored blur:)

Stop by Ashley's blog for more fun images and check back next Sunday- the prompts for next week are:

1. Diptych
2. Book
3. Fill in the Blank: When I think about how _______ is in the _______, I just have to ________.
4. A Taste of Italy
5. Reminders

Pepsi wasn't sure about this

But what is the point of getting pets if we don't have a chance to mildly embarrass them at some point?

We are entering right at the deadline, but I thought Pepsi should get a chance to share her adoration for Kitty Paw!

My tripod is teasing me

Her legs have arrived, and they are sitting in the closet tapping their feet until the head comes in later this week. We ALL want to get to some serious macro-sizing, and I can't wait! I'm hoping this will help me do away with the 15 "mm... that one is a smidge blurry" shots I get for every 1 good macro photo I keep.

But until the head gets in, the legs and I will get acquainted (don't get cheeky thinking about that) and I'll be ready when the tripod is complete!

In other news- Chowder!

Touch Up Tuesday's at the Paper Mama

I'm linking this shot up with Touch up Tuesday, Sweet Shot Tuesday and the Happiness Project. Above is my final product, below is SOOC- I don't have any photo editing software, but for now I'm pleased with the results I get in Picnik! And as for why this works for the other two link-ups? Just look at those eyes! One of the best parts of my day today was coming home and playing with this little pup:).

And over at 2babycakes, the theme this week is 'yummy', so today's produce gets to step into the blog-light as well!

Yum indeed, as long as you like brussell sprouts, that is!! Which, of course, you should. :)

I love my husband because...

There is a photo walk nearby soon that I really want to attend. The problem? It is at night, making handheld photograph dodgy at best. So instead of listening to me bewail my fate, Mr. Pony got me a very early birthday present. Behold her glory!

Specifically, I now have a set of Manfrotto 055XPROB Pro Tripod Legs and a Manfrotto 498RC2 Ball Head with Quick Release. Happy Early Birthday to me!

Also- grapefruit!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

I had a lot of trouble finding the motivation for these this week, but as always, it feels great to complete the scavenger hunt! Head over to Ashley's blog to see a lot of great interpretations of the prompts!

1.Chocolate- Mm.... truffle filling....

2. Numbers- Mr. Pony makes me coffee almost every morning. And I don't mean put it in the pot and let it bubble coffee- I mean cappuccino that you measure out and brew each cup individually. Yup, he is fancy {notice I don't include myself in there- I just drink it!}.

3. Canned Food- We don't really use canned foods much, but this is one of my guilty daily pleasures.

4. Music- Mr. Pony has some serious audio equipment. The huge headphones make it so that if he is listening to music, I have to send a herd of elephants through the room to get his attention. I think that is the idea:)

5. Stack- To avoid having to purchase the above pictured canned food, Mr. Pony has purchased a variety of ingredients that are supposed to make an all natural cola, including star anise. We'll see how this experiment goes!

As always, thanks to Ashley for hosting this link-up and I look forward to seeing all the amazing shots over there!

Next week's prompts are:
1. Capture the Sky
2. Everyday
3. Furry
4. Life
5. Blurred

Finally Friday!

All work and no play makes Jill a... bad photographer? I've been jammed with work recently, so I've gotten very few good images this week {boo}, but tonight I was able to get some fun shots. It did make me feel better to pick up the camera again!

The moon was so bright tonight- you could get great details of the surface, even with only a 100mm lens.

Once back inside, Chowder promptly fell asleep. However, just in case someone should attempt to break in, his ear stayed on alert (and of course he opened his eye just in time for the picture!).

Of course, Pepsi was unimpressed with the moon and thought Chow's alertness to be laughable. Well, amusing- I've rarely seen her even giggle.

Whether or not they are my guardian creatures, I do love these little animals!
