Leslie and Ross were so adorable to photograph! This is the first of many great images from our session this past weekend, and I'm having so much fun going through them. Thanks for a wonderful time, guys!

The week in Pickle

Why do puppies grow so fast? It seems like he gets larger by the day. Right now, his head looks way smaller than his body should warrant- not sure if we are on an awkward puppy phase or if that is how he'll end up:).

And we still have no idea what he is- sometimes he looks like a long dog (Corgi, Daschund, etc) cross, and sometimes he doesn't.

But he pretty obviously adores his older brother. He has a habit of sitting on Chowder's head or feet. For the first 2 or 3 times this happens, Chow will move. After that, he just gives up and accepts the awkward cuddles.

And they do spend a lot of time cuddled. I think Chowder is pretty content with his new little brother. They spend a lot of time wearing each other out with viciousness. Then they curl up and make me smile!

Pepsi still does not know if she accepts this interloper, but she hasn't tried to eat his face yet, so I take that as a good thing.

Puppy Eyes

I was up earlier than usual this morning, and before heading to work I curled up for a few minutes on the couch with Chowder. I got up to head to work, looked back, and this is what greeted my eyes.

Puppies are great at guilting you. "Mom, we need to talk. Really, you shouldn't have moved until I did, and then you should have pet my belly. And given me bacon. And cat food. Rude, mom, so rude." *sigh* I did give him a treat- I am a sucker for those eyes!

Furballs

It is quite remarkable how I never get tired of taking pictures of my little balls of fur. Chowder sometimes poses for me.

Of course, it did take several takes to get that image. He always turns his head away as soon as I click the shutter- I have a TON of motion shots of the dude. Oh well:).


And want to know a little known fact?

Computer chairs- specifically those of people who are suckers for animals and don't like moving them all that much- come with magnets which draw cats like flies to honey.

Fortunately for Pepsi, her daddy wasn't home for the afternoon, so she got to lounge in her almost favorite spot for hours.

More vacation shots

We didn't visit 'The Rock' until the last day of our trip, but it provided a cool backdrop for some photos!

I made the Mr. practice posing for me. I like the idea of getting better at portrait photography, but he normally makes goofy faces at me. Like that ---->




Anyway, other than trying to snap non-goofy shots of my love, I also focused on the ground.

Then at the fruits of the earth.

And brushed against the sky.

And it was good.

Streets and Beaches

I'm slowing sifting through all my shots from vacation (I filled up too many memory cards. Oops!), and I want to share some of the shots that caught my eye in the last 15 minutes. I threw them through a little post processing (adjusting levels, color conversions, etc), and I'm loving the vintage feel these show!

The sand was all over my shoes... my jeans... my face... but I wasn't all that upset. There were tons of pups running around having a great time, and these two were playing tag back and forth across the beach. What a great way to spend a day!

I love the life in this street scene. The two performers were really into their music, the people were having a great time watching them, and the street car was kind enough to give me a perfect photo op!

After editing this shot, I realized that black and white conversions can turn back the clock. You can't tell that we have tons of modern streetlight in the image, or that the cars were bright yellow taxis- you just see a dapper gentleman out for a stroll. Lovely.
